House Watchman

When visiting a Firehouse, the first area the visitor goes to is the House Watch Desk.  The House Watch Desk is manned by a Firefighter 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The Fire Fighter assigned to this duty is called the House Watchman.  The House Watchman keeps a record of all Alarms, movement of apparatus, as well as the arrival and departure of all visitors. The Watchman also directs visitors around the Firehouse.

Our Honorary House Watchman is James J. Mulcahey, first Chief of the Yonkers Paid Fire Department.  Please use the Directory below his picture to make your way around our Museum on the Web.
